Welcome

Saturday Spotlight No. 2

August 4, 2018

featured-image

Hi all! I am back again with another Saturday Spotlight post. I think I am going to shoot for doing these twice a month and maybe throw in an extra one if there are just a lot of things I am loving in that month! Grab a cup of coffee, and let’s get started on this edition of Saturday Spotlight!

 Cinebarre

If you know me, you know how much I love going to the movies. It’s mine and Preston’s all-time favorite date night activity. Well, lucky for us, the Regal headquarters is in Knoxville, TN!! We have so many different types of Regal theatres, it’s unreal! Regal is our favorite theatre chain, and we love the new cinebarre that just opened in Knoxville’s West Town Mall. It has everything we are looking for in a theatre- reclining seats, affordable tickets ($10), reserved seating, movie pass availability, AND this theatre serves food/popcorn/drinks right to your seat! Each seat has a little pull out table for eating. Preston and I both got the avocado burger, and it was really yummy. There is also a huge, fun arcade! Just a little tip about cinebarre- you should try to get to the theatre around 30 minutes early. If you get there right on time for the movie you run the risk of not being able to sit by your guest because of the reserved seating deal. Also, to order food to your seat you have to be there between 30 and 10 minutes early. No worries if you do make it just on time thought, because you can go outside the theatre, order your food, and they will text you when it’s ready! I could go on and on, but this is where I will leave it for now!

Bryce + Hailey

I am a sucker for a good Youtube channel to follow, and I will click on just about anyone’s wedding video. So when I saw Hailey and Bryce’s wedding video as a suggestion on Youtube, I was hooked from the very first second. Then I saw they have their own channel! I have been binge watching their videos lately, and I would be lying if I didn’t admit their lifestyle makes me want to buy a Volkswagen bus and drive around the country forever, ha! Seriously though, their channel is great inspiration, and I think their wedding video was a fun one to start on.

How I built this with Guy Raz

I think I am the very last person on Earth to become interested in Podcasts, but I am finally hooked on starting up a podcast whenever I get in the car. Preston and I have recently gotten interested in the “How I Built This” series by Guy Raz. So far we have listened to Panera Bread, Dell Computers, Drybar, Lululemon, and Atari/Chuck E. Cheese. We just love how inspiring they are, and how we come away with more knowledge every time we listen! Podcasts are so fun because they are adding something to your life when otherwise you would just be listening to music. BTW- when I am not listening to a podcast, I put on the audible version of any Harry Potter book!

That’s a wrap for this week’s Saturday Spotlight! I hope you all enjoyed this roundup of a few of my favorite things. I just realized they are all entertainment related, but I guess that is what I have been enjoying since being a little bit unplugged in Italy!

I am already looking forward to my next Saturday Spotlight! Have a great weekend!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
