My newly engaged friends are always asking me, “what should I put on my wedding registry?” It’s honestly one of my favorite questions, because I had so much fun during our wedding registry process. We registered on Amazon (and pottery barn!), and every couple we’ve known to get married since has registered at Amazon.
Today, I am sharing five of the best items to register for on Amazon. These products are all in the lower range of spending, which works to round your registry out nicely. Let’s get into it!
1. Window Blind Cleaner
This gadget is not only extremely practical but also encourages me to dust my blinds more often. Who knew there was something specifically best to dust blinds with, but this is it! It motivates me to do it every few months because its just too cool. You want this in your cleaning kit the next time you go to dust your blinds. *Also writing this is reminding me that I need to dust my blinds!
2. Knife Sharpener
I feel like no one ever thinks about sharpening knives until you’re a married person or getting married? Maybe I was the only one not to think about it, but when this came up as a suggested product when we were filling out the Amazon registry, it looked like a good idea. I guess I never realized my knives before this were dull, but now that we have it, I appreciate the sharpness of our knives almost every time I use them. It’s nice non-slip base and thumb groove grips really help it to stay in place during use, and it’s compact enough to fit into our silverware drawer. This is the best knife sharpener on the market in my opinion!
3. Glass Seasonings Organizer + Tiered Tray
These glass seasoning jars might only seem aesthetically pleasing at first, but I actually think they’re very useful as well. I’m very convinced these take up much less space than using the seasonings in their original jars. It’s also much easier to find the seasoning you’re looking for when they’re all uniform and clearly labeled. Not to mention, it’s pretty fun to put these together, and I made a day of doing it! Plus, if you have a seasoning that’s a little bit out of the ordinary, there are plain stickers you can write on with a chalk pen. This isn’t technically one of the products, but I think this clear tiered tray is the perfect stand for the seasonings!
4. Silicone Baking Mats
Silicone baking mats are so underrated. The best part of these, in my opinion, is the fact that you don’t really have to wash your baking sheets intensely. Their intended use is actually to get the bottoms of cookies and other goods crispier and baked more even, but I just appreciate them for the quicker clean up. Plus, if you’re environmentally conscious, using these has dramatically decreased the amount of aluminum foil or parchment paper I was wasting. So, in summary, these help reduce single use waste in baking and save on clean up time.
When I clean these, I just spread them out on the bottom of my sink, scrub with soap and a sponge, then roll them up in a clean hand towel to dry them— these don’t air dry well.
I also know these are at a great price point for someone to add on to a wedding gift!
5. Apple slicer + corer
This has been one of my favorite gadgets for a long time. I love apples so much but cutting them can be a pain— this tool takes all the hassle out of it. Just press the slicer down centered on the apple, push down and you have the perfect apple slices. I use this not only when I am eating an apple as a snack but also when I need to cut apples to bake.
6. Meat Thermometer
So many of our fellow couple friends are shocked when we pull out the meat thermometer while cooking. It’s one of our most used tools and helps us make sure we cook meat at the perfect temperature every time. This $20 meat thermometer has more than 7,500 five star reviews, so I think it’s a safe to say this is the best affordable meat thermometer.
