8 Extremely Fun Celebration Gifts to Mail Your Friends

August 29, 2022

celebration gifts to mail your friends

As the years go by, friends from college and high school get more and more spread out, which means we can’t necessarily be there for each other as much as we used to. If you’ve recently found yourself looking to celebrate a friend’s engagement but live miles and miles away, here are 8 celebration gifts to mail your friends. These mailed gifts are perfect for engagements, graduations, new jobs, promotions, new houses and more.

Gifts to Mail Your Friends

My theory when it comes to mailing something to friends is, “do they need this?!” As someone who doesn’t enjoy much clutter in the home, I often like to mail food or other perishable items. Similarly to sticking to the registry for bridal and baby showers, when I’m mailing random gifts, it’s a safer bet to get something they will enjoy but are not expected to keep for years. Unless your friend has a public Amazon Wishlist or Giftser, going with a safe bet like food or flowers is a win/win. Without further ado, let’s get into the best celebration gifts to mail your friends.

Jeni’s Ice Cream, $58

One of my best friends just got engaged, and mailing her Jeni’s ice cream was the perfect move. When you first get engaged, the amount of “engaged!,” “does this ring make me look engaged?,” etc. items you receive can be overwhelming. I went with this ice cream because it doesn’t expire really quickly (with engagements there’s the risk you’ve totally indulged over the weekend and are just over sweets by the time the weekend ends), and her and her fiance can split them for multiple date nights.

I made a custom pack so I could include Jeni’s wedding cake flavor, and then I just built the rest based on their best sellers box.

Baked by Melissa Cupcakes, $39

If you’ve never tried Baked By Melissa cupcakes, they are truly heavenly! With tons of dietary minded options, I’ve often found myself sending these for my vegan or gluten free friends. Sending something that perfectly lines up with their dietary restrictions is a really thoughtful touch.

If your friend is a total foodie, something from Milk Bar might do the trick. These items are so good, and with cookie, truffles, cakes, pies, and more, you really can’t go wrong.

Farm Girl Flowers, $68

If you’re going to send flowers in the mail, these are absolutely beautiful and come in so many options. Sending flowers in any way is more on the expensive side, but Farm Girl Flowers make a huge statement and feel really luxe for the price tag.

Airbnb Gift card, $ Various

Who wouldn’t want to go on an engagement-moon, babymoon, etc? I think you can’t go wrong with Airbnb gift cards or their hotel preference gift cards for any celebration occasion.

Wine Subscription, $ Various

I absolutely love gifting subscriptions, and what says celebration better than a wine subscription? You can pick how many months you’d like to gift your friend, and they have the freedom to pick their wines. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Personalized Candle

Homesick candles have something for every occasion. I’ve sent these candles to my bookclub, someone who just got accepted to their dream school for college and more. They have something for everyone, and they usually smell really good. Buying candles is somewhat risky, but with the fun premise behind these, I think it’s a safe bet.

I hope these gifts brighten your friends day and help you stand out as the gifting queen or king! I think it’s so important to celebrate friends’ accomplishments no matter how big or small. With life paths looking different for everyone, I’m trying to make it a goal in the next few years to start celebrating/sending my friends surprises like these for occasions outside of the typical engagement, wedding, and baby.

Let me know if your friend loved something you sent from this list!

Almost 21 days of time moving my body with this community! Doesn’t even capture the enjoyable hours spent at book clubs, special events, working play lounge years ago, all the things 🧡

Couldn’t let this accomplishment pass without a spot on the feed! I’m so thankful for this community and the lifelong friendships I’ve created out of it.
