The selection of winter wedding inspiration on Pinterest is much smaller than one might think. I have always known I wanted to get married in the winter, and I just assumed a ton of other people did too. However, I discovered that there aren’t nearly as many winter brides as there are spring, summer and fall, which has made finding inspiration online difficult to say the least. I like this in a way because I can choose the aspects I want the most at the wedding and not worry about the latest trends or what is “Pinterest worthy.” Sometimes, though, it would be nice to have just a little bit to go on.
Luckily, I did think it would be nice to share the details of my winter save the dates to provide inspiration for any struggling winter bride out there! Here are my winter wedding save the dates and my top three tips to make your invitation process easier. For a more in-depth guide, make sure to visit my post about our invitations!
I had to reduce the file size in order to upload, so just keep in mind that it’s crystal clear in person!
Invitation Design
My entire invitation suite was designed by a great shop on Etsy, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how easy the process was. You tell her all the things you want in, she comes back with an initial design and then you can work with her to make sure every detail is perfect.
Our wedding website is included on the save the date, and that just gives guests the chance for more specific information and the ability to RSVP early if they want. Here is my wedding website if you want to check it out!
Envelopes + Addressing
I went with green envelopes, mainly because that’s our accent color, but I also think this makes them really stand out from other pieces of mail. I am so happy with how they turned out. I used these pens to address them (visit my post on hand lettering if you’re looking to learn some of the basics I applied to writing all these). A note on the pens, it looks like they are only sold in-store at Walmart, and you can find a pack with gold, black and silver for around $5 in the craft and card making section! I used these to write our return address on the back of all the envelopes.
These envelope rulers are amazing, especially if you like to pay attention to every detail. These can really help you achieve a straight line and make each envelope look uniform.
Stamps
I got so lucky with the stamps! Our wedding is at a train station in Knoxville, and USPS released train stamps just in time for our wedding. I love them so much. I highly recommend looking on the USPS website to see which stamps are most applicable to your wedding.
