Welcome

Bachelorette Details

July 16, 2019

What do you think of when you hear the words, “bachelorette party?” I’m sure it varies from person to person, but when I think of the ideal bachelorette party, mine comes to mind as the perfect one for me! If you know me, I love all things girly, relaxing, cozy and fun, and it’s safe to say my bachelorette was all that and more.

My wedding isn’t until December, but summer was the perfect time for a little lake trip. My aunt Karen graciously opened her lake house and hosted us for all the festivities. While I am not having bridesmaids, I still wanted to celebrate with my closest girl friends who will still be involved in the big day.

Day 1 // Lake and Dine

Everyone arrived around 1 p.m. and we opened their little gifts and set out for the lake. I am in love with the bags I gave them, and I can’t wait to see them love and use them for many summers together.

Here are the exact bags I ordered for everyone! There are a ton of different options, and looking at them makes me want to get another cute one for myself, ahhh if my honeymoon was going to be beachy I definitely would. They were done really soon and shipping was pricey but effective and quick! There are so many colors to choose from so I sent a list of the colors to my friends and let them choose their favorite without revealing what it was for.

I think they were a big hit!

I also gave each friend a pair of these sunglasses and picked out the white ones for myself. Each person also got an essential oil, a chapstick and an essential oil hand sanitizer just for fun! Their beach towels were the turkish towel type, and I picked up an assortment from Home Goods! Everyone loaded them up, and we headed out on the boat for a day of swimming, relaxing, snacking and of course listening to Taylor Swift. My friends were so sweet and supportive and went along with all my pictures wants!

Lake time is the best time

Here is the ring pool float, and the heart one was picked up from My Kind of Lovely, but I can’t find it on their website. Here is a very similar on Amazon though!

We headed back to the lake house and chatted on the porch before eating the yummy dinner my aunt. mom and MIL put together! It was so good. I know my friends really love me because they packed up and ventured down to the lake for some lakeside s’mores in the heat of July, ha. After finishing s’mores, we mixed up epsom salt and baking soda into tiny Ball Mason Jars and took turns smelling an array of essential oils to put in them! By the end we had lots of good smelling bath salts to take home as a treat. I brought movies and bridal magazines in case we got bored, but everyone enjoyed sitting around and chatting which is one of my most favorite things to do! It was the perfect way to end the night.

Day 2 // Breakfast and Rain

Everyone had to leave earlier in the day on Thursday, but we still made the most of it with donuts, quiche, fresh fruit and orange juice! It rained all morning and afternoon, and I enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch with my mom and aunt talking about how much fun everything was after they all had left. It was the perfect day! We kept saying, “best weekend ever!” even though it was a Wednesday and a Thursday because it was just as relaxing as the longest weekend. Have I said how thankful I am for the people in my life?

🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long: I 🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
