Riomaggiore has tons of shops for these seafood cups! Their specialty is fried anchovies, and they were so good!

I was not expecting how beautiful Cinque Terre would be! I knew of the iconic houses on the hill, but I didn’t realize there were beautiful beaches, hiking, and fun activities to do. We stayed in Levanto, and it was the perfect town! It is the town right outside of the Cinque Terre area, but that makes it perfect because it is cheaper and a little less crowded. We bought a 5Terre express card (16 euros) that allowed for travel from La Spezia, Levanto, and all the villages in between for the entire day. It really allowed us to town hop, and to feel more relaxed about timing and train mistakes. Each village has a different feel so make sure to visit as many as you have time for!

Riomaggiore is the cutest, little boat town! We got seafood cones from the Mamma Mia shop there, and they were so good!

Manarola contains the iconic Cinque Terre shot. If you only have time to visit one village, this should probably be the priority! It has the best trail right on the coast that allows for so many pictures and access to several swimming holes! I can now say I have swam in the Mediterranean Sea, which is so fun!

Corniglia doesn’t really have beach access and the town is very steep. We couldn’t make the climb up to the main area of the city with our shoes, but I am sure it is very pretty!

Vernazza was so cute! It had a neat port area and a small beach! I bought a Turkish towel there that I am going to bring home with me.

Monterosso al Mare is the go to spot for beach lovers. It has the longest stretch of beach out of all the towns, but it is very crowded! Getting a good spot away from a lot of other people is almost impossible, so we went around 4:30 and a large portion of the crowd cleared out!

It was such a great weekend. Two days in Cinque Terre was plenty to see all the sights, but I really think I could have stayed for at least 4 or 5 days to really do all I wanted!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
