I’m not even ashamed to admit that I coveted a pair of the Veja sneakers for many, many months before finally getting my hands on a pair. I had seen them all across social media and on celebs (even Kate Middleton), and I just knew they would fit seamlessly into my wardrobe and fill a shoe gap I felt I had.
Well, I now have two pairs and have gotten them both broken in, and I am ready to share my Veja sneaker insights for all of you! This Veja Sneakers Review will help you figure out which Veja style is right for you, if Veja sneakers are worth the price, Veja sizing information, how to break Vejas in and more!
Which Veja Style is Right for You?
Before I really dived deep into looking at Vejas, I thought they only had the one classic style that I first saw on my Instagram feed. When you really start browsing their site though, it’s easy to quickly see just how many of these shoes there are to choose from. They have seriously athletic vibes and seriously polished and classic vibes.
The first pair of Veja sneakers I purchased were the campo style. These are definitely classic. They have a completely flat bottom, similar to Converse sneakers.
The other more common style is either the V12 or V10. The main difference between these is the v12 runs a little more narrow and tighter than the v10, but they both have the same, more athletic look compared to the campo style. I personally have a pair of V10s!
There’s another style that I think is really cute, but I personally don’t have any experience with these. I think they look super cute though so I wanted to make sure and mention them.
Are Veja Sneakers Worth the Price?
Like I mention in almost all my product reviews, I think something being “worth it” is really relative. I absolutely love both my pairs of Vejas, and I think they look really polished and clean. Do I think there are dupes out there? Yes! Do I think they would be exactly as high quality and polished as the true Vejas? Maybe not. If $150 for sneakers isn’t in your budget though, you don’t need these to complete your wardrobe.
I found a few dupes that are a little bit more budget conscious. These don’t all necessarily look just like one of the Veja styles, but I think the vibes are there. Also, if you see a style you like, make sure to click to see if there’s a better colorway- sometimes liketoknow.it won’t let me pick the specific colorway I would like to link :/ frustrating!
I also want to point out that Veja has a style very similar to the classic New Balance design, and those are usually a lot more affordable as far as sneakers go if that is helpful for you!
Veja Sizing Information
So, Vejas styles are not uniform in sizing. It’s important to play around with the sizing guide on your Vejas retailer of choice and look at reviews. I’ll share my experience!
I am between a 7 and a 7.5 for most shoes, but sometimes I need an 8.
Campo Sizing
I have the campos in 37 (US 6.5/7), and they are too tight honestly! Something happened when I looked at converting the sizing from European to US, and I messed up. I thought it would be fine once I broke them in, and it’s doable, but I wish I had went up a size. This makes me think the campos run true to size or a little big, because if I can make a 6.5/7, the 7.5 would have probably worked perfectly.
Converting from European shoe sizing is honestly so tricky for me, so make sure you take your time and really read reviews and sizing guides. Madewell’s sizing guide for these is the most helpful I think!
I would never be able to wear the campos I have for a really long period of time or when I needed to be comfortable. I can tell they would be, but I just messed up! I honestly need to list them on poshmark and order another pair.
V10 Sizing
I have the V10s in a size 39 (US 8), and they fit so well. I would say they are definitely on the roomier side, but I don’t have an issue as long as they are tied snuggly.
These are definitely the most comfortable out of the two I have, but I honestly can’t say for sure if it’s the style or the fact that I messed up my sizing for the campos. I want to say this style is more comfortable in general though, but I could definitely be proved wrong.
How to Break Vejas In
Once you get your shoes in (and make sure they are the correct size hopefully), it’s time to break them in! I probably wouldn’t just take these out of the box and start wearing them immediately.
For both my Veja sneaker styles, I started out by wearing them around my house while I was cleaning and doing random things. This is honestly how I break in most of my shoes!
The campos took a lot longer for me to break in. The tongue of the leather can cut in to the front of your ankle, and it honestly hurts. It took a hot minute for that feature to go away, but now it’s fine for me to wear the campo style for a few hours before my feet start to hurt.
The V10s were broken in almost immediately. I wore them around the house for a little bit, but not even a week later, I felt like they were good to go for unlimited use. I can seriously wear these all day long, and I even recently wore them when we walked miles and miles in San Francisco.
Veja Style Inspiration
The beauty of Vejas is truly their versatility. It’s obvious to pair them with anything sporty, but I think they really go with even the girliest of dresses too. Something about these just work.
I have been wearing my Vejas out lately! Here are a few shots featuring them from my Instagram.
I also wanted to share a few other bloggers I know have Vejas and I have sought out for inspo from in the past!
Julia styles them beautifully here and here.
Lastly, Vejas are one of the few brands we can actually find attainable in Kate Middleton’s wardrobe! She has styled her a few different ways, and I’m always so excited when I manage to spot them.
I have a lot more style content and product reviews like this on my style tab if you’re looking for other popular items you’ve seen me sport.
Hopefully this post has helped you determine if you need a pair of Vejas, which size to go with, how to break Vejas in and more.
