13 Perfectly Unique Gifts for Book Lovers

Gifts for Book Lovers

Shop this post:

I think we all have a book lover (or multiple) in our lives, and this gift guide is dedicated to them. First of all, thank you for thinking of your book-ish friend as the holiday season approaches- buying gifts for book lovers that aren’t books can be kinda tricky. These gifts for book lovers are sure to be winners this holiday season and beyond!

First of all, it’s probably not a good idea to get a book for your book nerd friend. Unless you know specifically there is a book they have been wanting, or you found a really cool, new edition of one of their favorites, it just leaves a lot of room for error. Even going to their goodreads account and looking at their “Want to read” shelf isn’t a good idea, unless you maybe live with them and know they don’t have it on waiting in their TBR (to be read) pile.

So, where does that leave us? Well, I have rounded up 13 perfect gifts for book lovers. I am so excited about this gift guide because I would personally, LOVE to receive any one of these items, and I think a lot of book lovers out there would too.

Gifts for Books Lovers

1. The World of Jane Austen Puzzle, $20

This vibrant 1,000-piece puzzle transports you to memorable scenes from the beloved novelist’s work. There’s also a more generic book club puzzle if you’re not certain they love Jane Austen.

2. Custom Embosser Stamp, $30-$45

This custom “from the library of” embosser is the perfect gift for serious shelf stockers out there. I know so many of my friends who love collecting their favorite books, different versions of those favorites and all the new and popular releases they can get their hands on. This also helps slightly relieve some anxiety about loaning books out!

3. First Edition Book Cover Art Print, $65

As the most expensive item on this list, I thought carefully before including it here in this roundup. If you know there’s a specific classic the book nerd in your life loves, I think this would be an excellent gift. Since it includes the frame, I really think the price of this can’t be beat. Make sure to head to the retailer’s site to browse the different first edition book options there are. Some that caught my eye were The Great Gatsby, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, The Wizard of Oz and more!

4. Book Club Scented Candle, $34

With scents of orange and nutmeg and a beautifully sleek design, this book club candle is the perfect little surprise or addition to a book-ish gift! I’m trying to stop myself from ordering these for my entire book club!

5. Book of the Month Subscription, $49-$169

This might just be the best gift on this list! Even if your book lover already has a Book of the Month subscription, this gift would just pay for three, six or 12 months of their subscription, so you really can’t go wrong here. This is the perfect way to gift books to your bookish friend, without the room for error of picking something they don’t like or already have.

Make sure to check out my “Is Book of the Month” worth it post!

6. Small, Custom Stacked Book Ornaments, $9+

I secretly want this gift for myself! If you know someone really likes all the Harry Potter books, a specific few of the Jane Austen books, the Anne of Green Gables series, etc., this would be such a fun and sentimental surprise. You can request any version of the books’ covers, almost as many books as you can count, how you want them “stacked” in the ornament, etc.

7. Scented Candles, $10+

You can’t go wrong with any candles as an addition to any of these gifts! Since a lot of them are on the lower price range for gift giving amounts, I wanted to make sure and plug a good candle. Almost everyone likes a candle, and I feel like that likelihood goes significantly up when we’re talking about book lovers.

8. My Life Story – So Far, $30

This cloth-bound “story of my life” memory journal book has prompts for memories, stories, and wisdom. This is the perfect chance to give your book lover an excuse to write their own story. I think this would be such a fun, and meaningful gift for the book lover in your life, especially if you’re gifting for someone more mature and with a few more years under their belts.

9. 100 Books Scratch Off Poster, $15

From Wonderland to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, these posters invite you to read your way through 100 iconic books. As you do, use a coin to scratch off each title and reveal the literary artwork underneath. The collections cover classics like James and the Giant Peach and Wuthering Heights, as well as works in the contemporary canon like The Hunger Games and American Psycho. It’s an interactive way for any bookworm to enjoy essential reading. Made in the UK, which gave us Macbeth, Pride and Prejudice, and the Harry Potter series.

They even provide a list of the books and their authors so you can make sure it’s a good roundup before you purchase! I think this is so unique, and at just $15, it’s the perfect little treat!

10. The Bookworm Pencil Set

Hand-stamped with bookish sayings, this set of eight pencils will delight passionate bibliophiles. Isn’t this just fun? This would be a great stocking stuffer! I love all the sayings.

11. LED Neck Reading Light, $19

This is a useful and fun gift! It doesn’t get much better than that. Plus, if they already have a reading light, maybe they don’t have this handy neck model, or they could always use another one to keep in their purse or suitcase!

12. Library Card Tote Bag, $20

Celebrate your favorite titles with this tote bag, printed to resemble a fresh library card.

13. Matching Loungewear

There’s perhaps nothing cozier and satisfying than some matching loungewear. If you know your book lover well enough to know their size, a matching loungewear set from Target would be such a fun treat in any bookish goodie bag!

As you can tell, many of these items are on the lower price range for gift giving. I think it would be really fun to pick up any of these individually or go all out and get 2-4 for someone you’re really close to!

Also, don’t forget that you can always pick up a gift card to your shared, favorite local bookstore to gift alone or pair with one of these items. Everyone loves free book money!

I hope these gift ideas for books lovers sparked some inspiration for you as we head into the holiday season this year. It seems like there are going to be a lot of shipping delays this year, so I hope this helps you knock a few people off your list early with gifts they will love.

Thanks for stopping by, and make sure to check out my past gift guides for some ideas.

My children gave me something similar to the life story gift suggestion. I really love being able to leave a bit of “my” history to them in book form, including photos, etc…
    A win-win situation!
