Fall is quickly approaching, and if you find yourself living in an area with less than ideal fall foliage or fall weather, it can be hard to evoke those cozy, fall feelings. We moved to California last year, but this is the first time we’ll be experiencing a full fall living here, so I’m on a mission to make it feel like fall we were used to in Tennessee this year. Why not bring you guys in on the fun and make a post about it? Here’s how to make it feel like fall this year and all the posts you can currently find on my website and Instagram to bring out the fall feels.
Fall recipes
How to make it feel like fall quickly? Recipes! Planning your weekly menus with a fall spirit in mind is one of the easiest ways to get me in the fall spirit. Here are my favorite recipes to make in fall!
- Brown Butter Apple Blondies with Cinnamon Maple Glaze
- Maple Apple Butter
- Baked Apple Cider Donuts with Cinnamon Maple Glaze
- Pumpkin Bread
- Beer chili – love using pumpkin beer in the fall!
- 30 minute beer braised chicken
Fall music + playlists
One of the other quickest way to get into the fall spirit for me is through music! Cozy music sets the vibe faster than anything. I’ve linked my favorite playlists I’ve created below, and my favorite fall records to play on our record player for the ultimate vibes.
- Cozy Vibes – more than 10 hours of my favorite fall vibes songs!
- Fall Work Day – this is perfect for days my husband and I are both working from home! Skews less girly.
- Twilight Time – the Twilight soundtrack is truly better than it needs to be! My husband makes fun of me for it, but I just love listening to it so much. Puts me in the perfect fall emo mood.
- Folkmore – Taylor Swift’s folklore and evermore combined into one playlist because sometimes I’m just too cozy to get up and put on another album.
Fall home items
A few of my favorite places to shop for fall home decor include Joann’s, World Market, Target, Crate and Barrel, and Hobby Lobby.
Not going to go into full design breakdown, but I will quickly share a few of my favorite tips and tricks.
- I use this time to display my Harry Potter books fully since they definitely look more magical.
- It’s really fun to switch out candle sticks for dark orange or green
- These reusable bats to stick to the wall make such a big impact in your space
Fall books
Don’t forget to refresh your fall reading list with some spooky or cozy reads! Reading is such an easy way to get swept away to another place, so it naturally makes sense to pick books with a fall spirit.
