Welcome

My Italy Travel Journal

November 13, 2020

When I was about to leave for my study abroad trip in 2018, one of the things I was most excited about was keeping a travel journal. I don’t journal any other times, but Katy Bellotte really inspired me with her travel journal from studying abroad (highly recommend watching the video!!)

I decided to do the same- I was just so excited about having this crafty escape while living in Tuscany and the ability to create my own souvenir. I purchased a journal from a little stationery store, bought a watercolor kit from a store and picked up some other stamps, pens, scrap paper, etc.

It was really fun to sit at my rickety table in my little Italian apartment with the windows open and the birds chirping, just painting away, gluing paper down and journaling about the amazing adventures I got to go on. It was really therapeutic in a way, and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of living in a foreign city for the first time. I ended up being so happy with the result- I was worried I would get my hopes up about it looking as beautiful as Katy’s, but I think I did a good job and produced something realistic to my artistic ability.

I thought there was no better form of showing this journal off than by video! Here’s the link to see my Italy travel journal.

By the way, I also collected little papers and memories to journal our honeymoon, but I am slacking on getting that finished! I also haven’t finished our wedding photo album- those two to-dos are definitely on my list now that it’s almost winter and we will start spending more time indoors.

I hope you all enjoyed this video and a little sneak peek into my study abroad experience! If you want to read more about my study abroad experience, stay tuned for an updated Classically Grace website design that will allow you to segment by travel location when searching- I am super excited for this!

Almost 21 days of time moving my body with this community! Doesn’t even capture the enjoyable hours spent at book clubs, special events, working play lounge years ago, all the things 🧡

Couldn’t let this accomplishment pass without a spot on the feed! I’m so thankful for this community and the lifelong friendships I’ve created out of it.
