Welcome

Eyeing Lately

October 30, 2020

I can’t believe it’s already Friday! This week has passed quickly and slowly all at the same time somehow. I think it’s mainly due to the anticipation coming with the first acceptable day to start somewhat getting in the Christmas spirit. My mom always begins decorating on Nov. 1 (even having my dad get out the Christmas decorations from the attic on Halloween night!), but I think I will probably just take down all my Halloween decor, leave up plain pumpkins for maybe two weeks, then start decorating for Christmas (besides the tree) around mid-November.

This is irrelevant to today’s post, but I just wanted to let you guys know where I am coming from if these picks all look a little bit holiday-themed.

Long pajama shorts- I seriously love any and all type of cute pajamas, but these are really standing out to me because of the length! Not to say any of my current pajama sets are revealing, but I really do like that these are modest enough for me to feel comfortable in front of anyone who might drop by after pajama hours have started– which if we’re being honest is way earlier in the day than it probably should be.

Tartan headband- I love all things tartan and all statement headbands meaning this piece is heaven sent!

Holidays hat- This is a preorder right now on the My Kind of Lovely VIP Facebook Group, so if you’re interested, make sure to join that group first and comment on the Christmas post. Once anything goes on the website (meaning it’s no longer a preorder, you can use “Loren15” to get 15% off any one item!.

Pumpkin Coffee- The folks at Pedal Java are some of the nicest people you will ever do business with, and as an extra plus, their coffee really is great. I am so wanting to try out the pumpkin flavor!

Classic Pullover- I feel like almost everyone needs one of these in his or her closet, ya know? I realized how low I was on things like this when we started going hiking earlier this fall. Nothing I currently have feels durable and comfortable enough to hike in all day!

Cozy Slippers- These slippers are at the very top of my Christmas list. I am a slipper queen, but my current pair is just worn out from my constant use from the past few years. These look durable and like a warm hug for your feet. My feet seem to always be freezing, even if the rest of my body feels fine, so I know these will be perfect.

New Book Club Book- Just in time for fall and winter, our next book club read is the “Invisible Life of Addie Larue.” I think it looks good!

Christmas Masks- I shared these on my Instagram story the other day, but since washing them and taking them out for a spin, I like them even more than I thought I would. I just think you can’t beat 5 masks for just over $12! They even come with ear adjusters so Preston and I can share them!

That’s just about it for what I am eyeing recently! The only things from this list I have actually ordered are the masks and the holidays hat! I will most definitely be ordering the coffee and the new book soon, while probably just lusting after the other items for a while.

I hope these posts are fun for you all to read! I know I love putting them together. Make sure to follow along on Instagram to see more behind the scenes of my life, and what I am looking at on a regular basis!

Have a great weekend and make sure to check back in next week! I believe I will be sharing my first holiday gift guide and the other two posts are to be determined.

🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long: I 🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
