Did anyone else struggle finding a good mother’s day gift this year? I just saw nothing that caught my eye. There were a lot of options for moms of little girls, but all the women in my life have only grown up children. Plus, our moms are the type to pick up anything they need or really want throughout the year, making holiday gifting hard. I thought I would share a little round up of spring gifts that I saw when I was shopping around and what I picked out for Mother’s Day. Obviously this year is a little different than usual, and these are all focused on things you can order and ship to your mom/friend. Gifting is my love language, so posts like this are literally perfect for me.
What I picked up for Mother’s Day:
Mother-in-law: When my mom, MIL and I went to NYC together last January, we found Rituals Cosmetics and absolutely fell in love. They bought several of the foaming body washes, and they are heavenly. I think I almost teared up the day I used the last bottle. When I have more funds, I think I am going to splurge on the entire line of this scent. I am very low maintenance on cosmetics/body products, but these are worth it. I am pretty sure my MIL hasn’t ordered any since we used all of the ones from our trip up, so I ordered her this set– I hope she likes it!
Mom: I asked my mom what she wants, and she said tennis shoes, but after a lengthy look around, everything is sold out or just not looking like what I know she wants. We agreed to wait on the tennis shoes until we can go in store and try some on (I need a pair too!). Luckily she also told me she wanted another one of her favorite Madewell shirts, so I got her that in a different color than she already has. I am still looking for a small thing to add on to this gift, but I am not settled on anything.
Here are a few other things I would buy and send to my friends in an instant:
The Home Edit book: Okay, I think this looks so helpful, and it’s on super sale right now. I follow @thehomeedit on Instagram, and I seriously love seeing all their organization posts. My house isn’t even close to that, but it is still satisfying to me! I know my mom has been cleaning/organizing/getting rid of everything she owns since I moved out, so this book is very timely too!
Punny dish towels: I think these are so cute and different from the norm! Plus if you or your friends are anything like me, I am desperately missing going to Home Goods, and these somehow remind me my home land! Crate & Barrel actually has a ton of cute dish towels right now!
Butter dish: I had never seen this before, but now my mom and I are obsessed. We both have one, and it brings us so much joy. How many times have you needed soft butter for serving on potatoes, breads, etc. and just sat out the Country Crock tub? If your friend likes to entertain, (if we ever get to again!) I think they would definitely like this.
Citrus pot holder: How cute is this? I have several Vol fans in my life who would love this.
Picture frame: I know this is a #basic gift, but I have several friends in a big season of life, (marriage, graduation, etc.) and a beautiful picture frame they can use forever really goes a long way- speaking from personal experience.
Beeswax Set: My friends and I have all been interested in limiting single use plastics, and I thought these beeswax sets were so cute! I definitely want to get a set of these for myself and a friend. There’s a pink floral and a blue dye set- I think you couldn’t go wrong with either!
Collectible book: I recently gave my friend Alyson this book, and she was SO happy to receive it! That coupled with myself owning and loving a similar version of Anne of Green Gables made me know this was a good gift! There are a ton of options, so I would find a book you know they already love and go with that.
Art: Giving someone art can be tricky, but if you really know their style and lean toward a smaller size piece, I think it can be really successful. I am linking this one because Preston and I just started a Knoxville themed wall, and I think it would be so cute to add!
That’s it for this roundup of cute little gifts! I saw so many good things on Anthropologie, Paris Woodhull and Jacks Avenue. I don’t think you could go wrong with something from any of those three. Happy spring!
