Are LAKE Pajamas Worth it?

Are LAKE Pajamas worth it?

Shop this post:

Who doesn’t love pajamas? LAKE Pajamas have been my obsession for the past year, and I’ve quickly gotten everyone I know to invest in these amazing pajamas as well. With a heftier price tag than most pajamas on the market though, are LAKE Pajamas worth it? Here’s what I think you should know before purchasing these pajamas!

I’m also going to talk about LAKE pajamas sizing, how I care for my LAKE pajamas, my favorite LAKE pajamas sizing and more.

Why do LAKE pajamas cost more than average pajamas?

At around $100+ a pair, these pajamas are quite a bit higher than your average set from Target. What makes these pajamas different than those you just casually walk by at the store? Well, quite a few things stand out to me and make LAKE Pajamas worth it.

The Pima Cotton

You know that itchy, twitchy feeling you get in your pajamas sometimes when you’re trying to get comfortable at night? You feel an itch coming on right as you’re about to fall asleep, your shirt is twisted uncomfortably under your back, the list goes on. Those issues used to plague my sleep at night, but since enjoying the little luxury of the pima cotton LAKE pajamas, so many nighttime angsts have been removed.

I attribute all of this to LAKE’s pima cotton. This material glides right over your skin, without feeling the slightest bit silky or sticky. It just lays so comfortably on your body.

These pajamas also keep me warm when I’m cold and cool when it gets hot. I have no idea how that even works, but I just know that it does!

One random thing I love about these- they aren’t see through! So many pajamas I have bought in the past are completely see through. I just generally don’t like that, and I don’t like having to worry about someone being over when I’m wearing them! I feel comfortable all around in these.

How do LAKE Pajamas fit?

LAKE Pajamas definitely have a relaxed fit, but if you’re at all in between sizes, I would recommend sizing up. I am sometimes and a small and sometimes a medium, but because I definitely don’t want tight pajamas at all, I go with a medium. I could probably go for a large in the shorts, but they actually don’t sell the tops and bottoms separately.

How to Wash LAKE Pajamas

Speaking of the fit, I also like to wash and dry my LAKE pajamas on a delicate cycle, so making sure they are extra roomy is key. These are cotton, so they’re naturally going to shrink a little bit. I just don’t like taking the time to hang dry pajamas, so these go in the dryer on a low setting for me.

A lot of people do hang dry their LAKE pajamas, and that’s even what their website suggests. Do whatever you’re comfortable with, but drying them on a delicate cycle has really worked well for me.

Which LAKE Pajamas Styles are Best?

This is totally going to be personal preference, but here are my favorite LAKE pajamas styles in order and why

  • Long sleeve top, long pants
  • Long sleeve top, shorts
  • Three quarter length top, shorts

I’ve actually never tried a nightgown or the short top and short bottoms. I run pretty cold at night, and the three quarter length top is about as short as I want to go even in the middle of summer. LAKE used to primarily only have this three quarter length and scoop neck style, but they’ve started carrying more high neck and full length sleeves- my favorite! I never thought the scoop neck or cut of the older style was super flattering for my body or age, but really these are pajamas so it doesn’t really matter.

You know what you like best, so I would just go with what you normally gravitate toward in your pajama drawer.

When is the Best Time to Buy LAKE Pajamas?

LAKE Pajamas has three sales every single year. They have an Annual Sale, Summer Sale and Black Friday Sale. Those are going to be your best bet for stocking up, and I always use the Black Friday sale to get some people on my list for Christmas finished. You can get sets for a lot better price than they are usually! This is usually when I get everything, but keep in mind that not every single style, color way or size is going to be in the sale by the time you shop or listed at all. If there’s something you really have your eye one, make sure to scoop it up full price or be on the site as soon as the sale starts.

Are LAKE Pajamas Worth it?

YES! If you couldn’t tell already, LAKE pajamas are worth it. They really will last so long.

Also, with a lot of high end lounge wear, the tops and bottoms can be sold separately for around $50. Considering it’s as much as it is for a complete set and just how long these will last, I think they are a worthy investment. I get sad any time they are all in the wash, and I have to pull out an old pair, and I feel like that’s a really good indicator that they’re worth the money.

I’ve had mine for years, and they feel just as fresh each time I wash them as when I first got them. The colors hold up beautifully too!

Please let me know if you have any questions about LAKE pajamas- I would be happy to talk through any questions you may have about these pajamas. Take my word for it- you will be hooked after your first pair!
