Welcome

What I Read: March 2021

April 2, 2021

Another great month of reading over here! I am SO glad I’ve been in the mood to read this year because it truly brings so much joy.

I log these books as I read them, so reading back over them this month feels like the first few were months ago. I didn’t realize this month had been so long for me until reading back over these.

The Book Tag

March 24, 2021

We recorded a virtual book club podcast episode this week, and I couldn’t help but share the book tag I created for the episode here. If you’re looking for blog post ideas, I think this book tag would be really fun to incorporate into your content. I’ll share the blank questions at the bottom so you can easily copy and paste into your blog.

If you want to hear more about my answers and my friend Alyson’s answers, make sure to listen to our podcast episode! Let’s get into the book tag.Read more

Recent Purchases 03.19

March 19, 2021

If you’ve been following me around here for any period of time, you’ll definitely know I’m not a big shopper. Am I always window shopping? Yes. Do I ever actually buy anything? Not really.

Every now and then though, I see a small uptick in purchases that occur outside the grocery store, and I like sharing around here. Something about this type of content is so pleasing for me to read and consume, and with so few chances to do it myself, why not?!Read more

March 17, 2021

Spring Forward

March 15, 2021

Admittedly, Spring Forward was extremely hard for me this year. I went to Nashville on Friday night for a bridal shower and then came home on Saturday, so with switching time zones twice, plus spring forward, my body woke up all out of whack.

We had a slow morning with lots of coffee and watched church online, but I felt sluggish even after 10 a.m. I decided the best thing would probably be to change out of my pajamas, make the bed, get out of the house and get a little bit more caffeine. This little spring morning routine inspired me to dedicate a post to little spring happies- let’s get into them!Read more

Buff City Soap: The Best Products and What to Buy

March 12, 2021

Buff City Soap

You may or may not have stumbled upon Buff City Soap in the past few years or months, but one thing is certain— if you’ve stumbled across it, you probably love it.

I found myself in the same boat last fall, after being gifted one of their mystery gift boxes. It’s a mix of their most popular items in sample size, and it was a great introduction to the brand. This box definitely left me wanting more, and I fell down a rabbit hole of trying the products. Read more

Coffee Mug Reset: 9 Beautiful, Practical Coffee Mugs

March 3, 2021

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as coordinating dishes. I just love the clean, uniform look of having all matching or coordinating cups, mugs, glasses, plates, bowls— you name it. One of the only, or maybe the only, mismatched set left in our house was our coffee mug situation. We had the customary hodge podge of travel and kitschy mugs, and it was truly causing me anxiety each time I opened our glass/mug cabinet.

This spurred me to explore a coffee mug reset. Read more

What I Read: February 2021

March 1, 2021

I cannot believe February is already over. It is the shortest month, but this year it absolutely flew by. That didn’t stop me from finding time to read though, and I have so many good winter books to review today.

🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long: I 🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
