Easy Cookie Recipe

August 6, 2018

featured-image

There is nothing like a sweet, simple, basic dessert. I mainly wanted to do a post about these cookies to get this easy recipe out into the world, but I also wanted to have it for my own uses! My mom and I are notorious for substituting and improving recipes that we find online, and this recipe is no exception! My favorite part about these is the ingredients. The items it calls for are so normal, and we usually already have everything it takes to make these! Does anyone else hate going to the store to pick up that one weird ingredient that you will never use again just to make one recipe?

Today I am sharing a recipe for easy, delicious hershey kiss and peanut butter cookies! We originally found this recipe from Reese’s, but we kind of made it our own, so I wanted to share our variation.

Yummy cookies
These are so easy!

Preheat your oven to 375

You will need

Unwrapped Hershey kisses- (however many cookies you end up making)

1 stick of butter softened

1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar

1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

1 egg

1/2 tbsp of vanilla

1 cup of peanut butter

1 1/2 cups Self-rising flour

Directions

Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, peanut butter, and vanilla in a large bowl. Slowly mix in the self rising flour.

Roll the cookies into 1-inch balls

Bake for 10-11 minutes!

When the cookies are done baking, make sure to quickly place the unwrapped candies on the middle of the cookies.

That’s all! I think there are dozens of variations you could do with these. Reeses, different flavored Hershey’s, no candy at all, salted caramel drizzle- the list goes on! Here is the original recipe in case you want to try that!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
