Welcome

Fourth of July Inspiration

June 29, 2020

Does anyone else get randomly excited for holidays and just go on a pinning spree for inspiration photos? I do this fairly regularly, and while I am not much of a summer girl, i do love the 4th of July holiday and all it comes with. We are going to be at a wedding on the 4th this year, but usually we’re having some sort of cookout, at the lake or hiking. I wanted to share a couple of pins and personal images that are inspiring me for this 4th of July season!

Patriotic Snack Plate

Easiest S’mores Cookies- *spoiler, you probably already have everything it takes! And you can freeze your extra dough for later or make it in a skillet cookie- so many options.

Impressive board- *Tip, these cookie cutters are a must for creating decorative cheese slices like you see below. My mom and I have done ghosts, stars, clovers, etc!

This would be such a welcome side to the usual heavy hamburgers and hotdog spread!

Extremely easy fruit bowl

My bowl is from Kroger last year, but here’s a similar option!

This is what i made last 4th of July!

HGTV’s 8 bandana-central DIYs- these look so easy and a simple way to add a lot to a gathering! Plus, I found a bandana set that should arrive to you before the Fourth!

Balloon Bouquet- I have been obsessed with balloon bouquets lately. Someone got me one for graduation, and then someone else got me one for my birthday. At least in our cozy living/dining room area, they had a huge pop (ha, pun intended!) for less than $20.

Im balloon obsessed lately- I almost got a set for fathers day, but I was on a tight budget that week!

That’s all for my 4th of July inspiration this year! I hope you all have a great holiday weekend and stay safe. I know this year will look different as we are all sticking together to overcome COVID-19!

🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long: I 🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
