I’ve been hitting my stride with 1-2 blog post a week, but this week I felt extra inspired and was able to knock out this extra Friday Five post! As you guys are reading this, we are enjoying some much needed time with my cousin/friend in Colorado. I can’t wait to share all the content from that trip.
Let’s get into this Friday’s Five!
// Grace Atwood’s Reading Recommendations //
I savor Grace’s monthly reading wrap up so much. She also has the neatest feature on her blog (i’m always trying to figure out if Preston has the time to help me accomplish something similar) that lets you explore every book she’s ever read, ranked! It’s completely lightyears ahead of anything else haha. Lastly, Grace also ran a book related podcast for a few years and had really fun and popular book review episodes that I always go back and listen to once I’ve read one!
// Ukraine //
The situation in Ukraine has left me feeling much more anxious than usual lately, like I’m sure it’s affected all of you similarly. I have been following Maks from Dancing With the Stars on Instagram to stay updated with a real person. It can be so easy to get sucked into the new cycle on things like this, but focusing on one real person who is doing his best to report his experience and what he’s seeing has been helpful. Here’s a list of ways Americans can help the people of Ukraine too!
// Book of the Month //
I’ve talked in depth about Book of the Month here on the blog before, but I needed to add a special little shout out to this post because they now have more than five options per month! This is going to be a game changer. One of the only limitations with BOTM is the requirement to pick one of the five (now more) books of the month to be able to also purchase the $10 add ons. So this really helps you have more opportunity to do that! Sign up for your first month for just $5 using this link!
// A New Show on AppleTV+ //
We have been loving Severance on AppleTV+ so much! It’s sort of a dark, satirical play on work-life balance. Lumon, a huge and mysterious medical company, offers all employees access to the “severance” procedure to fully sever their work lives from their personal lives. When they’re at Lumon, they can’t remember anything about their personal lives, and when they’re at home, they have no idea what they do for eight hours each day at work. Everything is great for Lumon’s severed employees, until they get a brand new coworker who has a little bit more trouble settling in than usual. It’s unique, twisty, mysterious and funny! Definitely give it a shot if you have AppleTV+.
// Love Shack Fancy x American Girl //
I think we all love the resurgence of the American Girl brand into mainstream media- I’m not going to lie, I felt like it was getting obsolete there for a few years. Their newest collaboration (after the extremely successful Stoney Clover collab) is with the delicate and floral forward Loveshack Fancy brand. I would have went crazy over these matching doll and little girl dresses if these had come out when I was younger!
That’s it for this week’s Friday Five! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I can’t wait to check back in here with lots of Colorado pictures.
