Hi friends! I wanted to sit down and do a little life update for today’s post. It is officially summer, and this period of life for a college student usually means a least a little change happening. Sometimes I think how odd it is that college students have their lives split into three quarters for four or so years. One year equals two semester and a summer and somehow so many things can change.
This summer I am staying in Knoxville and working 20 hours a week! I also plan to work on a lot of blog content, attend lots of barre classes and hopefully spend some time at the pool. I haven’t spent a large portion of summer outdoors in many years, and I am kind of looking to do that this year? I don’t know why, but this being my last official summer before adulthood is spurring me to soak up every moment. I prayed to God to bless this summer and help me appreciate every facet, and I know it will play out how He sees fit.
I hope the summer is full of hiking, farmer’s markets, date nights, movie dates and hanging out, but I also hope this summer will help grow me into the person I will be as a wife, senior in college, full-time employee and daughter moved out from home in the coming year of life. We (Preston and I) have a few weddings we are filming this summer, and I am excited to see how that venture plays out!
I am going to take the summer to finalize some wedding things, like sending out my save the dates and ordering little, fun things! I also have a mini-bachelorette to throw for a friend soon and a bridal lake day in July is being thrown for me! Summer is probably the funnest time to celebrate bridal events!
I want to learn how to make three signature dishes that I can perfect this summer! I am usually the queen of tasty baking endeavors, but I often shy away from cooking. I want to practice several meals and branch out with my desserts and try homemade bread! We will see how it goes, haha!
Preston is also going to be in Knoxville this summer as he graduated from his undergrad at UTK and accepted a full-time Master’s research position in his college. I am so proud of him!
That’s it for today’s post! I wanted to keep it short and sweet. Check back every Tuesday and Thursday (with some surprise Saturday posts) this summer!
