Look For Less: Trendy Fall Shoes On A Budget

October 16, 2020

For as long as I can remember, I have been a shoe hoarder. I’ve never cared for new purses, makeup or other items nearly as much as I usually crave new shoes every year. I also hang on to my shoes FOREVER in comparison to other things in my wardrobe. The problem with this? Shoes are an expensive habit. Especially when I am constantly wanting the latest styles and variations.

I saw similar shoes to the first pair in today’s post at Walmart of all places, and knew I had to pick them up. They’re pretty similar to a lot of $200 pairs I have seen in the past few years- I am even considering getting some red shoelaces to make them a little bit closer to the J. Crew Nordic Boots from last year.

This got me looking at Walmart’s shoe selections, and I was actually pretty impressed with how accurately they come close to trendy fall and winter shoes- at a fraction of the cost. Here are a few I am loving!

Nordic Boots (still available in ALL sizes, run!!)

Three Buckle- I think these are just edgy enough to make a statement without being over the top.

Chelsea Boot- Okay, I have almost an identical pair as these, but mine were around $100 (ugh!). I also think the white are even trendier, but I am not quite behind that trend yet.

Rain boots- I love this color so much! It comes in a lot of different colors though if green isn’t your thing.

Heeled booties

White tennis shoes with a twist

I love these affordable options- not only because it allows me to play around with different trends, but also because I can be extremely rough on my shoes of any price and quality so this means I have less money invested.

I also recommend going to shop in store at Walmart to get a different variety- some of the shoes on the website are in store, but some are just exclusive to one or the other.

Happy shopping! You can also shop this post here.

🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long: I 🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
