If you’ve been following along here for a while, you might have noticed I wear the turban-knotted headbands, like a lot. More days of the week than not, you can see me styling my headbands casually, dressed up, getting ready for bed- the list goes on! I seriously love how these headbands allow me to feel better about my hair, how I have accessorized my outfit and my overall fun in putting together outfits.
These headbands are even more functional than usual right now. With many of us working from home, working in the office less, going out less, etc., I think it’s also fair to assume some of us (maybe just me!) have started washing our hair less or going more days between washes. I find these headbands work pretty well for hiding the problem areas with second (or third) day hair- especially if you have normally hydrated hair.
I know these might be intimidating for some. When I first started wearing them, I felt like everyone was staring at my head (newsflash, they probably, most definitely were not!), and I felt they were only to be styled with boho outfits. These two thoughts are so far from my relationship with headbands now. I realized I could invest in different styles and fabrics to really maximize the number of outfit combinations I could create using them.
If you’re not on the headband train yet, I thought I would share a few of my favorites or ones I have been looking at recently. The price of these headbands are typically around $20 for a nice one, maybe around $10 for a more affordable option. I have an array of differently priced headbands, and I have to say I think this is one accessory you can definitely feel less inclined to splurge. I don’t think it’s extremely easy to spot the difference in an expensive one and a $10 one. All that said, I still compare the price of them to a hat or baseball cap since I can cover a lot of ground with them!
Here are my go to stores for these headbands!
Small Boutiques- So, when I was putting this post together I realized that several of my headbands are from local boutiques! I’ve particularly gotten them from My Kind of Lovely and Fiore– I am not sure if they still stock them! But I just mainly wanted to put this out here so you can be on the radar for them here and have the option to shop local.
Madewell- Gray Dot
Anthropologie- Copper Leopard, Classic (comes in so many colors!), Textured,
J. Crew– Metallic Dot, Leopard (this is one of my most purchased shares ever!),
Amazon- Admittedly I have never purchased a headband from Amazon! However, I diligently checked the reviews on the ones I am linking today, and I have seen countless friends share their Amazon headband picks.
Deep hues pack- Can’t believe how many ones come in this for the price! Might be a good pack to order if you have never tried them before.
I hope this post encourages you to give the headband trend a try, or get new headband inspiration if you’re already a fan! You can shop all of these headbands through LiketoKnow.it!
