Pisa was amazing! I was only there for half the day, but that was plenty of time to see everything! I walked into the city and saw the tower for the first time, and all I can say is I did not expect it to be that leaning! I kept thinking it was going to fall over any minute. We climbed to the very top, and it really isn’t as bad a hike as you think it would be! The view from the top is worth even the hardest climb!
After that we explored the Cathedral and the baptistery. Together they contain two of the four famous pulpits, and they were beautiful! The baptistery has the best natural acoustics, and every half hour or so a woman will create her own melody that will echo through the ceiling of the building. Pisa has tons of little souvenir shops and restaurants, so it’s perfect to go for about four or five hours and eat lunch in between!
Don’t be surprised to see hundreds of tourists lined up on the long walk attempting the typical holding up the tower pose, which is harder than it looks!
Also, don’t forget to wear something that covers your shoulders and to the knees to go into all the churches in Italy!
