Halloween already feels so, so different this year. It’s usually the one occasion I have a pretty big party for- It’s Harry Potter themed, and I usually go all out and send invitations, decorate, do a themed menu, dress as a HP character, etc. It’s always so much fun, but this year I just knew I wasn’t capable of making it as big as usual. With the pandemic, I haven’t hosted a big gathering in quite sometime. Thinking about the party made me feel tired rather than excited like I usually am. Read more
Fall Date Night for Less
It might seem weird to post about date night on a Monday, but Preston and I actually had a terrific Tuesday date night last week, and there were a couple of notes I wanted to share about it. Preston texted me a screenshot of the open evening reservation times at Emilia around lunch time on Tuesday, and asked me to pick my preference (love him so much!). It was such a surprise and a fun treat. We have both wanted to go forever, and I was talking about it again the previous weekend- so sweet that he was paying attention and took action! Read more
Recent Purchases 10.23
Admittedly I have been on a shopping hiatus recently. But, for some reason I saw an uptick in my purchases over the past few weeks (nothing crazy, but when you’re not shopping at all, even a few things feels intense, haha), and I wanted to share here!Read more
Tech Chat With Preston
Today’s post is a little bit different but something I have been wanting to do for a while- Preston is here with some tech tips and tricks he’s picked up along the way of studying to be a computer scientist at UT Knoxville. I’m bragging on him, but he actually gets PAID to go to grad school and get his doctorate. So he is definitely a technology expert. Read more
Scenes From The Apple Orchard
One of the top to-dos on my fall bucket list was visiting an apple orchard, but with the hustle and bustle during October so far, I honestly wasn’t sure if we would be able to make it work. Thankfully, the perfect evening opened up, and we were able to make the hour drive to Carver’s Apple Orchard & Farmhouse Restaurant. Read more
Look For Less: Trendy Fall Shoes On A Budget
For as long as I can remember, I have been a shoe hoarder. I’ve never cared for new purses, makeup or other items nearly as much as I usually crave new shoes every year. I also hang on to my shoes FOREVER in comparison to other things in my wardrobe. The problem with this? Shoes are an expensive habit. Especially when I am constantly wanting the latest styles and variations. Read more
#PrimeDay Stocking Stuffers
I don’t know about you guys, but I find stocking stuffer type gifts to be the most challenging. I was glancing around #primeday this morning and noticed a lot of fun items in that price range and wanted to share in case anyone else struggles too! I will update this throughout the day as I create more, so if you don’t see the “category” of person you’re looking for, check back here. Read more
Book Club
I am so, so cheap when it comes to buying books. I’ve used the public library, borrowed from friends and peeked into little free libraries my entire life. Just something about spending $10-$20 on something I will read once seemed silly to me? I cringe when I look at the price of paperback fiction books, self help books, etc. I never read anything current because I either have to wait MONTHS to get off the waitlist for it at the library or wait until a friend offers to lend it to me randomly.Read more
Photo Diary No. 4
I love doing these style posts so much! And, to be perfectly honest they are very easy for me to whip up- aka the perfect post for the morning after I get back from a weekend in Nashville. While I would usually queue up the perfect post about my time in Nashville, my friend Skylar and I really just hung out and soaked up togetherness with our friend Kelsey. We barely took any photos but left with so many memories! Those are the best kind of trips. Read more
Sweater Weather
I’ve been eyeing so many different sweaters recently- I thought it might be helpful to round up a few of my favorites in an array of price points in case anyone else is just starting to stock up!
I have four or five sweaters I keep on a rotational basis- I usually like to wear them around three seasons before I donate. I just wear them on repeat so much I sometimes can’t think of another year of wearing it Read more
