Does anyone else get randomly excited for holidays and just go on a pinning spree for inspiration photos? I do this fairly regularly, and while I am not much of a summer girl, i do love the 4th of July holiday and all it comes with. We are going to be at a wedding on the 4th this year, but usually we’re having some sort of cookout, at the lake or hiking. I wanted to share a couple of pins and personal images that are inspiring me for this 4th of July season! Read more
Recent Meals
I have been cooking up a storm these past few months, and I wanted to be intentional about cataloging this season because who knows if I will ever get a three month hiatus from to-dos and deadlines again? I have been emphasizing to Preston how rare this is and to not expect too much when I go back into the office, but he is hanging onto hope for a little bit longer. Today I am sharing a few meals I made recently and loved. Read more
How to vacation in the midst of a global pandemic
I get bitten by the travel bug quite often. Fortunately for me, I married someone who also craves traveling, and we are dreaming of, planning and saving for our next trip more often than not. However, because of the current situation surrounding COVID-19, traveling to almost any destination poses a risk. In the meantime, I am currently researching and planning an out of country trip we hope to take next year (or the next!) Today I thought I would share a few ways I have gotten my itch to travel to calm down a little! TheseRead more
Recent Purchases
I have seen so many shares and posts on Facebook about new online shopping addictions since quarantine began, but I haven’t found myself buying much at all! We have saved more money than ever before- it’s thrilling for us! But we are both so thankful to still have jobs where we can work remotely with a supportive team to back us. My birthday was also over this time period, so I was gifted a few of these items. Here are the things I have purchased/been gifted during this time.Read more
Guest Post: MC’s Grocery Games
I am so excited to be teaming up with my friend and neighbor, MC, to bring you all some AMAZING tips about saving money at the grocery store. MC really opened my eyes to how much I was unnecessarily spending at the grocery store. I am not perfect about following these every week, but I save around $100 each week that I do! I hope you enjoy this post! Read more
Quarantine Q&A
One of my favorite bloggers, Carly, shared a few questions to answer and then share for others to answer on her blog this morning. I thought it would be fun to share here just as a way to jump back into blogging regularly.
I have found blog inspiration hard to come by during these past few months, but I really want to keep the blog running for times when I am more inspired- I know it will come back to me sometime! So I apologize for the lack of content around here lately. Without further ado, Read more
Entertainment during quarantine
Let me just start out by saying I had no clue we were doing so much to entertain ourselves during social distancing! I am quickly realizing that we are SO good at entertaining ourselves and we really don’t need to go back to spending as much on entertainment as we did before this period. I think in life after COVID-19, we will definitely spend more time at home while still doing things here and there to support the local economy in the best ways we can! I have broken up the followingRead more
Little spring gifts + Mother’s Day
Did anyone else struggle finding a good mother’s day gift this year? I just saw nothing that caught my eye. There were a lot of options for moms of little girls, but all the women in my life have only grown up children. Plus, our moms are the type to pick up anything they need or really want throughout the year, making holiday gifting hard. I thought I would share a little round up of spring gifts that I saw when I was shopping around and what I picked out for Mother’s Day. Read more
Quarantine Bakes
Has everyone been bitten by the baking bug? I definitely have, and I have seen more people baking on social media than ever before. I think it’s simply because baking is soooo relaxing. For me, once I start baking, I can’t stop and look for one thing after another to make. This is somewhat problematic because there are only two of us here. While Preston does eat more than the average sized human, it can easily be overwhelming when we have two or three desserts in our kitchen. Today’s post Read more
Why You Should Have Pizza At Your Wedding + What to Know
Just imagine. You’re attending a formal wedding. The ceremony goes great. You walk into the reception. There are plated salads on the tables. The bride and groom come out for their first dance. The buffet opens. You walk into the other room with the food. You see a 12 foot table lined with pizzas. Pizza?? What? Read more
