It’s football time in Tennessee! You probably haven’t heard that in at least five minutes, so there it is again. In the south, fashion tends to take precedence over football for a lot of women, and I am so excited to share my favorite place to pick up game day tees and accessories! If you have been following along for a while, you know I love shopping at My Kind of Lovely. It’s the cutest boutique in the heart of campus, and they have free shipping for online orders. They couldn’t make it any easier toRead more
My favorite jewelry
I have discussed my love for transitioning and putting the final touch on outfits through jewelry many times on the blog, and I have even shared a snippet of my favorite place to purchase jewelry from. Today, I wanted to do a full blog post dedicated to my favorite jewelry brand of all time. Read more
New seasons, a life update
Seasons come and go. Isn’t that a refreshing reminder in the midst of turmoil and change? My all-time favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” This verse has kept me joyful through some of the happiest times and steadfast during the hectic times. I am so grateful to live a life with change and excitement, but I would be lying if I said there weren’t moments of uncertainty and doubt in myself through these changes. Read more
Cookbooks
There is something so refreshing about thumbing through a brand new cookbook, mentally marking the recipes you want to try and carefully positioning it to look perfectly with your other books. However, I know more people than not have a “cookbook graveyard,” where all the cookbooks they thought they would get so much use of, go to die. Why is it that we spend our time scrolling through Pinterest for recipes, when we have books in our possession that hard working people have spent months, or years, crafting? Read more
Fall Transition Pieces
If you have followed me since this time last year, you might have a glimpse into the degree in which I jump headfirst into fall each year around this time. I am usually the first person to walk in and smell the pumpkin candles, browse around the Halloween section and pop pumpkin bread in the oven. Unfortunately, Tennessee does not lend itself to fall clothing options until much later in the year, but I try to squeeze every last drop out of the season’s fashion. To do this, I rely heavily Read more
Saturday Spotlight No. 13
How has it already been a month since my last Saturday Spotlight? I always think it hasn’t been that long since my last one, and then I write another and realize time flies.
Settlers of Catan- I am an average board game consumer. I would generally say that I really enjoy playing them, but I don’t find myself playing them very often. For some reason Read more
What I read in July
There have been so many good reads in July! It started off as a slow reading month, but then all my library waitlist books seemed to come in at the same time. I started finishing some of the audiobooks in around two days, which really allowed me to “read” more this month!Read more
My Winter Wedding Save the Dates + Save the Date Tips
The selection of winter wedding inspiration on Pinterest is much smaller than one might think. I have always known I wanted to get married in the winter, and I just assumed a ton of other people did too. However, I discovered that there aren’t nearly as many winter brides as there are spring, summer and fall, which has made finding inspiration online difficult to say the least. I like this in a way because I can choose the aspects I want the most at the wedding and not worry about the latest trends or what is “Pinterest worthy.” Sometimes, though, it would be nice to have just a little bit to go on.
Luckily, I did think it would be nice to share the details of my winter save the dates to provide inspiration for any struggling winter bride out there! Here are my winter wedding save the dates and my top three tips to make your invitation process easier. For a more in-depth guide, make sure to visit my post about our invitations!
I hit 50 classes at barre!
As I am writing this, I just finished my 50th class at barre3 Knoxville. This milestone felt so far away at the beginning of my journey at barre3, and to finally hit it feels like the biggest accomplishment.
I started going to barre3 after a free, promotional event for college students, and I was hooked from the very first class. The workout pushed me out of my comfort zone, made me incredibly sore and left me with the biggest smile on my face. My exercise level severely dropped off after cheerleading ended in high school, and although I didn’t really experience the freshman 15, Read more
What I’m eyeing lately
Do you ever have a busy couple weeks and feel like your expenses are bursting at the seams? That happens to me at least once every few months, and I know it will only increase as I take on more responsibility when I am officially #adulting. The Nordstrom sale time always means stocking up on some fall basics, I had to buy curtains for mine and Preston’s future place, and we booked part of our honeymoon adventure last week. Not to mention the chunk of my paycheck that goes to barre3 Read more
