Do you ever have a busy couple weeks and feel like your expenses are bursting at the seams? That happens to me at least once every few months, and I know it will only increase as I take on more responsibility when I am officially #adulting. The Nordstrom sale time always means stocking up on some fall basics, I had to buy curtains for mine and Preston’s future place, and we booked part of our honeymoon adventure last week. Not to mention the chunk of my paycheck that goes to barre3 Read more
Our new home
2019 is a year of new beginnings. Preston starts his masters program, we get married, we move into a new home together. So many new starts and endeavors are happening this year. It’s probably going to be the most exciting fall and winter of our entire lives, and we are already preparing for 2020 to feel very slow and uneventful in comparison.
One of the most new and tangible facets of all this new, is our condo. Around March, we became the owners of our little built-in-1960 condo, and have been working on fixing it up since. On the last Read more
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here yet again. I think I enjoy this sale so much because fall (and fall fashion) is one of my favorite times of year. This year is extra fun because after fall comes my Christmas wedding! The promotion of the sale can make you experience some major comparison when every blogger buys what looks like $5,000 of new clothes in one day, but I wanted to do a post with the smaller, more everyday items that I picked up and love. Never believe that you need to buy anything to fulfill your life! You don’t “have” to buy a single thing from the sale to be happy. Read more
School essentials with Amazon Prime
How is it almost time to go back to school? Summer usually drags by for me, but I really took a different approach this year and challenged myself to grow, and I think it made all the difference for my summer appreciation.
The best part of going back to school for me? All the cute school supplies I gravitate toward. As a college senior (how did that even happen by the way?), I have discovered Read more

Easy summer berries
I truly have a new appreciation for summer this year. I have never loved it and savored it as I have this season. Fresh fruit just screams summer to me, so today I am sharing the easiest fresh fruit mixture to bring to your next summer gathering or to mix up for yourself.
I brought this to a Fourth of July gathering in a fun, patriotic bowl I bought from Kroger Marketplace, and it paired really well with the lemon pound cake my mom brought. We also set it out during dinner for a Read more
Don’t give up on something you love.
Quitting is a term we are all familiar with. When I was in elementary school and was bored to death by piano lessons, I quit. When I realized I hated baking in the sun while playing tennis in middle school, I quit. When I found blogging to be something I absolutely loved in high school, I quit. One of these things is not like the other.
An honest review of Real Home Chef
By now we have probably all seen our favorite social media influencers do a sponsored post with HelloFresh, Blue Apron, Plated and more. Every I time I watch one of these I think, “that looks easy, but is it really fresh?” Something about sending fruits and vegetables and meat through the mail seems odd to me, but I suppose it has to be or thousands of people wouldn’t order it every week. When I watch the video clip or see the picture, I find myself doubting if the food is actually good or if they are just being paid so much they don’t care what they say. Read more
What I read in June
I am still chugging along with my reading goal well! I am so happy that this summer has revived my interest in reading, and I hope that I make time to read every year following.
Here’s what I have read in June. Note- I listened to all these on Audiobook except The Altruists and Educated. If you haven’t given audiobooks a go yet, I highly recommend trying it! Read more
Movie Time no. 6: Toy Story 4
Let me preface this post by explaining that I did not want to like Toy Story 4. I was fully prepared to witness a worn storyline grasping for relevancy. I thought Toy Story 3 left everything perfectly wrapped up and finalized for America’s favorite toys. Read more
