There is nothing sweeter than sitting down to craft a cute card, decorate it with all the washi tape, and slip it in the mailbox to be sent out to someone special! Snail mail might just be one of my favorite hobbies, and I love it because I think it positively impacts others during the process. I wish more people participated in paper partying because it truly is so rewarding (and I wish I had more pen pals). I thought I would do a post about all my favorite aspects of snail mail and info on where I get all my supplies/inspiration! Here we go!
P.S. the picture I used for this post is super old- from my freshman dorm room! I think it’s time I take some new photos, haha!
Inspiration
99% of my inspiration comes from searching “hand lettered ____” on pinterest. This always brings up pictures of chalkboards, card ideas, prints, etc. that I can usually recreate myself. I usually don’t have a specific person in mind while I am searching and let the results remind me of people in my life. I think this is the best way to send thoughtful cards to people!

Supplies
My favorite cards and envelopes come from hobby lobby. They are in the card making section, and they are the best ones I have found. Most of my markers don’t bleed through, and they have a great texture! I always get the 50 pack of all white cards and envelopes.
Washi tape makes me so happy! I have wayyy too many rolls of this, but it’s just so cute. I love getting seasonal sets because those encourage me to send out cards around holidays which is extra fun! The best place to buy washi tape for me is home goods or tj maxx. There are usually lots of options and unique patterns! I have also found good washi tape at walmart.
I am a major pen hoarder. It might be a slight problem! These are my absolute favorite, hands down! They can be tricky to get the hang of at first, but once you practice they are easy.
Having a fun address book is one of my favorite parts of letter sending. I love this one from amazon or getting a customized one from Erin Condren.
Entertainment
Have you seen my recent post about my fall playlist? I love to stick this on while I am card making. If I am not in the mood for music I usually opt for Harry Potter audiobook or a podcast!
That’s it for my paper party routine! I hope you guys enjoyed this post. This may be one that I frequently update as I find new tricks and gadgets.
Have a great day!
