Photo Diary No.3

September 19, 2020

How has it been more than a month since I did my last photo diary? Time is just going so quickly, but I feel like that always happens at the end of the year. As this is going live, we are on our way to hike in the Smoky Mountains- which we rarely ever do! I am so excited, and I am sure pictures from that trip will be in the next photo diary.

Before we move into all things spooky, this roundup is a little more geared toward before I went full on pumpkin mode, but there are some fall gems hidden throughout if you look hard enough (which I easily do!).

I love, love going into Backporch Mercantile, especially now that they have their fall goodies out. Everything is so beautiful and simple, even if it doesn’t fit my home decor exactly, I still get inspiration every time I walk in.

Whenever my brother-in-law comes to stay the weekend with us, we always manage to play at least one game of Catan. It’s so easy to learn, and I love that it keeps everyone engaged throughout the entire game. FIY, we have the Family Edition, but now we wish we had bought the regular version because we currently can’t buy any expansion packs (aka allow more than four people to play!).

Preston is the expert when it comes all things toasting, frying or searing in our kitchen. He is just so much better at it than me! He made the most incredible grilled cheese when I didn’t feel like cooking one evening. His secret? The more types of cheese the better!

We

We had been dying to drive the Foothills Parkway, and a few weekends ago we finally did it. We accidentally drove all the way to North Carolina, but it’s the memories that count right?

We saw this basket of free gourds when we were on a walk in our neighborhood one day- so nice to see hallmarks of community even when we live in a bigger city.

These blueberries are HUGE. They’re from Costco, and every time I eat one I just get shocked all over again. The best part is they’re super juicy!

Half Baked Harvest’s Five Ingredient beer bread is seriously DELICIOUS!!! It’s such a treat with chili, soup, anything! You probably already have most of the ingredients in your pantry too.

My friend Katie is going to be on our upcoming episode of Nice to Have a Friend! It was so much fun to catch up with her and have an excuse to hang out- which has been the best part of the podcast overall in my opinion! By the way, katie’s episode will be out on Tuesday!

This was my view for the outdoor barre3 class I attended- can you say Pride and Prejudice vibes? This was at Lakeshore park by the way- I can’t believe how crowded it was at 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday. Those people made me feel motivated to start exercising earlier!

We went to Scrambled Jake’s after the outdoor barre class last weekend, and I was reminded just how yummy it is. Get there early for least likelihood of wait times!

This multi-purpose cleaner smells AMAZING. I don’t believe it is disinfectant, but I like to use it in between deep cleaning kitchen days for a little touch up and to make it smell delicious!

That’s it for this photo diary! I get a lot of good feedback from these type of posts, so I hope you all don’t mind that I am making it a regular thing. Follow me on Instagram if you want to see more of these type photos in real time!
