It’s now the height of summer, and if you’re like me, you may be noticing some of your summer essentials are way overdue for a refresh. We were at the pool yesterday for the Fourth of July for literally almost 12 hours, so I got a good idea of what I can’t live without at the pool. This pool bag essentials list will change the game for your next day spent by the water!
Pool Bag Essentials
Waterproof Sandals are an obvious, but I just love these so much. Preston and almost every other member of my family has a pair of these, and we are all obsessed. I really like this high quality pair- even though these are pricier than the budget pair you can find at your local super center, they will last you much longer and work for many seasons to come!
It’s so important to make sure you have Polarized Sunglasses. They will actually protect your eyes from the sun! I love the Quay brand because they give the designer sunglasses vibe but are much more affordable and still high quality.
Face Sunscreen is so, so important. We’ve all heard the sermon on protecting our skin (and face especially) from the sun, and this sunscreen is my absolute favorite for my face. “Unseen” is the perfect description!
I wear this Sun Hat almost every single day in the summer. Seriously, I can’t get enough of it. I love this one because it easily dresses up or works for a chic look by the pool! Be careful of taking this one on the lake though because there is actually no chin strap- I’ve lost mine in the lake more times than I would like to admit.
Speaking of the lake, a Simple Baseball Hat is probably better for the lake or ocean. It won’t blow away as easily, and it’s also slightly better for serious swimming! I love this one because it comes in a ton of colors and there’s no logo, just nice and simple.
Turkish Towels will change your life. They are so easy and breezy, meaning they won’t get musty year after year like traditional towels. They also fold up so compactly and shake out easily!

Last but not least, a book is the most essential pool bag item for me. I have to mention my favorite Book Subscription once more because it truly just excites me more than anything.
