It has seriously been so long since I did a reading recap, but to be perfectly honest, I took a lengthy break on reading. After my last semester ended abruptly, it was just hard to get in the mindset that I actually had free time. I started Good Reads at the suggestion of my friend Alyson. It would be extremely hard to even remember what I had read without the Good Reads app- I am able to easily log everything I read, start reading or want to read on there! I am going in order of most recent to least recent.
The Proposal- This was a fairly good read! I loved that it was a pretty unusual story- a girl turns down a very public proposal but meets an amazing “rebound,” through it. It was a little bit more rated M than I usually prefer- but not too bad!
Major Pettigrew’s last Stand- This was pretty dry, but ultimately a good book. It follows an aging man in the English country side dealing with racism, his estranged son and eccentric neighbors.
The Girls in the Garden- I read two in a row by this author, and she specializes in twisted storylines. I am not really a fan- I dont think I would read hers again. They are kind of predictable but weird at the same time?
Then She was Gone- This one was very, very predictable! I wouldn’t recommend.
The Wife Between Us- I definitely loved this one! It’s expected and unexpected in the best ways.
The Dutch House- This is narrated by Tom Hanks, it’s so weird to hear his voice narrate something non-animated.
The Little Book of Hygge- this is a nonfiction book that I would really recommend. It’s all about the Danish word, hygge. That sounds boring- but I promise it’s a very cozy book. If you like audiobooks, I recommend going that route.
That’s what I have read recently, I just started “Nine Perfect Strangers” by Liane Moriarty! Let me know what you’re reading by messaging me on Instagram!
