I am a big fan of the Knox County Public Library, and since joining as a member there, I almost never pay to read a book. This means sometimes I am on a waitlist for a new book for more than six months. Somehow eight books all became available to me within a few days of each other, and that led to me accidentally reading a ton over the past few weeks. Here’s what I have read recently.
This is a YA book, but I honestly think almost anyone would like it as just a quick, easy read! I read a lot of Ally Carter’s books when I was in middle school (wish I could be a Gallagher Girl!), and I knew I had to read this one when I saw it was set in Alaska- I just love cold weather vibes!
A coworker recommended this to me as just an easy, quick series, and I really enjoyed it! Not too confusing or deep, just a fun and suspenseful read.
Ahhh, this book was really good. It’s a little more deep and hard hitting without being too dark and depressing. It’s set in 1950s Tehran and it follows two high school sweethearts through their engagement in a tumultuous time for their country and personal lives. It really looks at the consequences of our choices and makes you think a little bit!
Okay, this book is super long, but I really enjoyed it! I love historical fiction so much, and after visiting Scotland this past January, I was definitely ready to read something set in that location. It is definitely rated R in some parts, so I would only recommend it for older readers.
This was a very timely read- it was the story of the relationship between two women, one white and one Black and how their work and personal relationships were complicated by the undertones of race, income level and education. I think it had a lot of good, fun moments in the mix that made it an entertaining and thought-provoking read.
Oh my gosh, I am the biggest Twilight fan. I knew i had to read this book, and it didn’t disappoint. It is the exact same time setting as Twilight, but it’s told from Edward’s perspective rather than Bella’s. I would definitely read it if you like the original books or not!
This is actually the 14th book in this series, but I had no idea! I think it works as a read alone book, but I honestly don’t know if I would recommend it. Just a weird pace and not my tpical read.
I absolutely love Liane Moriarty’s books- I think I could read every single one of hers! This is the third book I read from her, and I think it was still great, but I like Big Little Lies and the Husband’s Secret better I think. You can’t tell how this book is going to end until almost the very end, and I love the way she weaves in sinister tones throughout an entirely, otherwise normal story line.

I apologize if I am not the most thorough book reviewer- I hate when people give anything away with a read, book or movie so I try extra hard not to spoil anything for anyone.
