Welcome

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and How Can You Shop?

July 31, 2020

featured-image

A few days ago I shared a little bit about the Nordstrom sale, but I actually got a couple questions after sharing. I thought it might be nice to share a little bit here and answer some of the questions I received. This is probably my fourth year shopping the sale, and I have always been super happy with my purchases. I still own everything I have purchased over the years, but I think I owe all that to being really intentional and smart before hitting ‘purchase.’

What makes the sale better than others?

Tens of thousands of sales happen each year, but this one has to be one of the most talked about. Several aspects make this sale “better,” than the rest, but I think one of the biggest components is the inclusion of fall items. Usually sales are on items that are going out of season, but the Nsale is almost exclusively fall and winter items. This is one of the best times to stock up on things for back to school, Christmas gifts and restock on items purchased every year. I also think it helps that almost every single category of retail items is on sale, you name it- men’s, women’s, home, kids, everything. The selection in each of these categories is very diverse, and a lot of items are size inclusive. One of my personal favorite things about the sale is the carry over from year to year- dozens of items appear each year, or an item extremely similar to it. This helps me count on the sale every year for some things I have fallen in love with.

What do I get from the sale every year?

One of my friends asked me what I buy from the sale every single year, and I definitely was planning on sharing that with you all, but I thought sharing now would give any first time shoppers a glimpse into just how varied the sale is! Shop my reoccurring sale picks here.

When can you shop the sale?

I would never try to influence anyone to sign up for a credit card, so if you currently don’t hold a Nordstrom credit card, no worries! You can shop the sale on Aug. 19- some things will be sold out by then, but Nordstrom usually adds a few more items to the sale when the access opens up to all. If you already do have a Nordstrom card, you can log in to your account to check our status and when it means you can shop. I will be able to on Aug. 10, but I am going to start sharing on Aug. 3 just in case anyone can shop before me! Fingers crossed my regulars will still be available. I plan to share the newly posted items the day the sale opens up to everyone!

Others who cover the sale well-

Before I am now able to share the sale, I shopped for years with some of my favorite bloggers at the helm. Melissa shares even better sales she finds on the same items from the Nordstrom sale. Katie always rounds up everything and anything worth shopping. Brighton is sharing items to complete those missing gaps in your wardrobe this year.

If you want to eye a few items you are interested in from the sale, everything included is already open for a preview. Make sure to stay tuned for my roundups of amazing deals from the sale. Also, it would mean so much to me if you would shop the sale through my links- just email (classicallygrace@gmail.com), text or message me on social media if you want me to send you a link!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
