Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent it working, relaxing, and of course going to the movies. I don’t normally post on Wednesdays, but I wanted to get this up today instead of tomorrow, since I know everyone will be with their families.
On Thursday night, I went to the premier of Crimes of Grindelwald with my family at the Knoxville Cinebarre, AKA the best place to go to the movies- see why here. I didn’t do a review of it because if you’re going to see that movie then chances are you already are a big Harry Potter fan, and I don’t need to convince you. Plus I posted a poll on my Instagram story asking if you all wanted to see a review on Crimes of Grindelwald or Instant Family first, and the latter won.
So, here is my review of Instant Family!
Oh. My. Goodness. This movie was so, so good. I loved everything about it, and I would even go as far to say it’s the best movie I have seen in months. I laughed so hard, and there were several moments that brought tears to my eyes. The plot was really different than anything else that’s been out recently.
It is rated PG-13, and I think that is definitely for the cussing. It has quite a few, so keep that in mind when considering who to take to see this movie. Other than that it was a pretty good family movie!
The acting in it is really good. Seeing Rose Byrne (bridesmaids) not play a mean character was really different. and Mark Wahlberg as a devoted dad was funny, too.
Preston did not see this movie with me, so I can’t give a guy perspective in this movie review, but I am fairly certain he would have loved it.
That’s all I have to say about Instant Family. Seriously, go see it if you enjoy comedies with a family center!
I do have a funny story that has nothing to do with the movie. When I went to see this movie with my friend Alyson, we went to the Downtown Knoxville location (mainly so we could go to Cruze Farm), and it was a mad house! Parking was terrible, but we got “lucky” and found a street spot with no meter. Basically, I am an idiot and didn’t see the sign that said “30 minute parking zone,” and I came back from the movies with not one, but two parking tickets. Even after that I was still happy we went to see the movie if that tells you how good it is, ha!
