Welcome

Taylor Swift- folklore

July 30, 2020

featured-image

It’s no secret that I am a HUGE Taylor Swift fan. My mom got us tickets to see her Speak Now show in Nashville when I was in middle school, and I have been hooked ever since. As I get older, I  appreciate her for new reasons. Her longevity, her business savvy, her ability to completely reinvent herself when needed. I think there’e just so much to unpack from her career and learn from her. Read more

Our Honeymoon Video

July 29, 2020

featured-image

It feels so good to finally say, we finished our honeymoon video!!! It’s safe to say I never thought it would take almost seven months for us to find the time to edit it completely, but better late than never. One of the aspects of marriage I wasn’t fully prepared for was just the lack of wanting to do anything else but be together, especially in the first few months! Even when we’re just watching TV, I love not being on my phone or computer or Read more

If I Was Shopping

July 28, 2020

featured-image

I love online window shopping- something about just picturing the items, how I would style them, taking note of trends I have seen, etc. is just so fun. I realized I had built up quite a few reoccurring notices, and I wanted to round them up here. Read more

Photo Diary No. 2

July 26, 2020

featured-image

I got a lot of great feedback from my first photo diary, and I was so glad! I loved doing it the first time so I think I will make it a regular occurrence. I share a lot on Instagram, but sometimes there are just a few pictures I don’t feel make sense to post on Insta and deserve a little spot here. Read more

Little White Dresses

July 23, 2020

featured-image

Maybe it’s because I was in a wedding this past weekend or maybe it’s just because I have leftover space in my attention span for all things white, but I have noticed SO many white dresses recently. One problem that always came up for me was finding white dresses fit for winter time, but I am afraid that not many seem to exist. Summer and into late summer, Read more

Breakfast

July 22, 2020

featured-image

I have gotten noticeably more interested in breakfast over the past few weeks, and I honestly find myself surprised each day when I feel like having even a semi-time intensive morning meal. I have historically never had anything to do with cooking in the morning, my limit is usually a breakfast bar or banana- toast even felt like too much work for me. Read more

Scott’s Cheap Flights

July 19, 2020

featured-image

When Preston and I were searching for dreamy, but budget-conscious, honeymoon plans, several people recommended Scott’s Cheap Flights. I quickly made an account, but I honestly didn’t understand what the magic was for a little bit. I wanted to write a post about it in case you are a travel fan but have to stay on a budget like I do! I know plane travel (and travel in general) isn’t feasible right now, but like I mentioned in my how to evoke travel in the midst of a global pandemic post, sometimes you just need to plan a trip. Most airports are being flexible about COVID related Read more

Quarantine Reads

July 15, 2020

featured-image

It has seriously been so long since I did a reading recap, but to be perfectly honest, I took a lengthy break on reading. After my last semester ended abruptly, it was just hard to get in the mindset that I actually had free time. I started Good Reads at the suggestion of my friend Alyson. It would be extremely hard to even remember what I had read without the Good Reads app- I am able to easily log everything I read, start reading or want to read on there! I am going in order of most recent to least recent.Read more

10 Dresses I Wish I Was Wearing This Summer

July 14, 2020

featured-image

I am just a happier person when I am wearing a dress. Something about waking up in the morning, getting ready and putting on a dress changes my entire mood for the better. Even though I have been working from home since early March, I have spent a significant portion of time “dressed up” to a certain degree. I am definitely not as dressed up as I would be in the office, but I usually have on something semi-presentable. Read more

🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long: I 🍋 lemonade recipe to enjoy all summer long:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons), or more if you like it super tart!
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup. My grandma just put the sugar directly into the lemonade which was so delish! But I played around with doing this and think it incorporates really well.

Let cool, then mix with lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Optional! The tiniest dash of vanilla extract and very thinly sliced lemons.

Taste and adjust sugar or water if needed.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

I also made her brown butter broccolini from the same cookbook. Delish!
