Quitting is a term we are all familiar with. When I was in elementary school and was bored to death by piano lessons, I quit. When I realized I hated baking in the sun while playing tennis in middle school, I quit. When I found blogging to be something I absolutely loved in high school, I quit. One of these things is not like the other.
An honest review of Real Home Chef
By now we have probably all seen our favorite social media influencers do a sponsored post with HelloFresh, Blue Apron, Plated and more. Every I time I watch one of these I think, “that looks easy, but is it really fresh?” Something about sending fruits and vegetables and meat through the mail seems odd to me, but I suppose it has to be or thousands of people wouldn’t order it every week. When I watch the video clip or see the picture, I find myself doubting if the food is actually good or if they are just being paid so much they don’t care what they say. Read more
What I read in June
I am still chugging along with my reading goal well! I am so happy that this summer has revived my interest in reading, and I hope that I make time to read every year following.
Here’s what I have read in June. Note- I listened to all these on Audiobook except The Altruists and Educated. If you haven’t given audiobooks a go yet, I highly recommend trying it! Read more
Movie Time no. 6: Toy Story 4
Let me preface this post by explaining that I did not want to like Toy Story 4. I was fully prepared to witness a worn storyline grasping for relevancy. I thought Toy Story 3 left everything perfectly wrapped up and finalized for America’s favorite toys. Read more
How I taught myself fauxlligraphy
Have you ever been scrolling through Instagram or tapping past Instagram stories and come upon a “candid” photo of someone’s beautiful latte next to their handwritten notes? Do you ever stop and think, “wow, if only my handwriting looked like that!”
That happened to me dozens of times. I have even been the one to post the candid photos with artsy handwriting and a beautiful coffee. Today’s post is all about the fauxlligraphy movement- what I love about it, how I learned the basics of it and what products you need to get started. Read more

An update on my cooking journey
I am not a chef…. yet. Before this summer, my kitchen experience included lots of baking, heating up leftovers and making soup in the microwave. My mom is the best cook, and I have watched her and talked to her while she has prepared the yummiest meals for so many years, but I rarely ever worked on the meals myself besides stirring something here and there. The art of the handwritten note
Hi friends!! I hope everyone is having a great week. It’s back to almost regular work hours this week after a few days off, and I am ready to get back in the swing of things to say the least!
One of the most exciting things happened over the weekend- My first bridal shower was hosted by my best friend since birth. It was so much fun. The theme was “she found her main squeeze” and had the cutest lemon decor! I am going to post the details on my Instagram story and already posted my outfit from the shower if you want to check that out! Read more
What I read in May
Hi friends! As I am writing this, I am on a bus to Martin, Tennessee for a work trip. I have been to Martin once before to attend my mom’s college graduation, so there really isn’t a better time to write this post. I got my love of reading from my mom, all through my childhood and while I was in school I watched my mom speed read through book after book, and it always made me want to read Read more
Pool Bag Essentials
Hello summer friends! It’s officially summer for me, yay! I am spending as much time as possible at the new pool that is at the apartment I am staying at for the summer.
